Screening for Plagiarism

Plagiarism and Originality Policy

All manuscripts submitted for publication in the International Journal of Bengali Literature (IJBL) must be completely free from plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, or omission of significant material.

Authors are expected to properly cite and acknowledge the work, ideas, or data of other researchers or authors, whether directly quoted or paraphrased in their own words. This policy applies to all types of sources, including printed, unpublished, or electronic materials.

Failure to provide proper acknowledgment or citation of another’s work constitutes plagiarism, which is considered entirely unethical and unacceptable in academic publishing.

IJBL maintains a maximum similarity threshold of 20% when screening manuscripts. Manuscripts exceeding this limit may be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected outright.

To ensure the originality and integrity of published research, IJBL uses Turnitin or equivalent plagiarism detection software. This process helps the journal uphold the credibility, academic standards, and ethical integrity of its published research.
