Peer Review Process
The suitability of manuscripts for publication in the International Journal of Bangla Literature (IJBL) is determined by the Editorial Board in consultation with qualified peer reviewers. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board meet, when necessary, to decide whether a manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.
After submission, each manuscript is first subjected to an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board to ensure that it complies with the journal’s policies and scope. Manuscripts deemed suitable are then forwarded to expert peer reviewers in the relevant field. Reviewers critically evaluate the manuscript and submit their reports within a specified time frame.
Manuscripts requiring revision are returned to the authors through the IJBL Dashboard. Authors are required to resubmit the revised manuscript within the stipulated deadline. The Editor-in-Chief forwards the revised version to the Editorial Board to verify whether all reviewers’ comments and suggestions have been adequately addressed. The Editorial Board then makes a final decision regarding acceptance, further revision, or rejection. Editorial meetings may be convened if necessary.
Once a manuscript is accepted, the Editor-in-Chief issues a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to the authors and sends them a copy of the accepted manuscript for their records. The manuscript is then forwarded to the language editor, who improves its grammar, readability, and stylistic quality. Subsequently, the Journal Manager prepares the final layout and publication schedule through the IJBL Dashboard.
