Open Access Policy
The International Journal of Bangla Literature (IJBL) is a peer-reviewed, fully open-access academic journal. The primary objective of the journal is to disseminate scholarly research on Bangla literature to the global academic community without any financial barriers. IJBL believes that unrestricted and immediate access to published research fosters a broad, inclusive, and dynamic environment for the exchange of knowledge.
Under its open-access policy, all articles and contents published in IJBL are freely available to readers, researchers, and institutions worldwide. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles without prior permission, in full compliance with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Budapest Open Access Initiative
The integration of traditional scholarly publishing with modern internet technologies has opened new horizons in the dissemination of knowledge. Researchers and scholars across the world are increasingly sharing their peer-reviewed work freely, accelerating the growth and impact of academic research. The internet serves as a unique platform for distributing scholarly work on a global scale.
Removing access barriers enhances the pace of research, enriches education, and encourages international collaboration. Open access enables readers to locate relevant literature quickly and efficiently, while simultaneously increasing the visibility, readership, and scholarly impact of authors’ work.
Definition of Open Access
Open Access refers to the free and unrestricted availability of scholarly literature on the public internet, permitting users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, or otherwise use the full texts for any lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers (other than those associated with internet access).
Authors retain the right to preserve the integrity of their work and are entitled to proper acknowledgment and citation.
Sustainability of Open Access
Although the peer-reviewed publication process involves certain costs, open-access publishing is significantly more cost-effective and efficient than traditional subscription-based models. To ensure the sustainability of this model, IJBL invites institutions, foundations, universities, and independent researchers to support and participate in open-access publishing initiatives.
Strategies to Achieve Open Access
1. Self-Archiving
Authors are encouraged to deposit their peer-reviewed articles in open digital repositories in accordance with the standards of the Open Archives Initiative, enabling seamless discovery and accessibility across multiple platforms and archives.
2. Open-Access Journals
IJBL is committed to maintaining open-access publishing without charging subscription fees or reader access charges. The journal’s copyright policy safeguards authors’ rights while ensuring the permanent and universal availability of published articles. Publication costs are supported through research grants, institutional assistance, and other sustainable funding models.
IJBL places strong emphasis on flexibility, innovation, and collaboration in the implementation of its open-access policy. The journal is committed to working jointly with governments, universities, libraries, publishing organizations, foundations, and individual researchers to remove barriers to knowledge sharing.
Our overarching goal is to make research on Bangla literature accessible to readers and scholars worldwide, thereby enriching education, research, and global intellectual exchange.
